Abstract

This article presents a historical overview of the implementation of the Judiciary’s Anti-Asylum Policy in the Federal District, established by CNJ Resolution No. 487/2023, which restructured the procedures for monitoring and treating individuals with mental disorders in conflict with the law. The study highlights key events that marked the actions of the Court of Justice of the Federal District and Territories, in coordination with other agencies and institutions. It analyzes the strategies adopted to implement the policy and the main challenges encountered, emphasizing the effects of this process on the occupancy of the Psychiatric Treatment Wing and establishing its connection with the axes of the Pena Justa Plan. The article concludes that, although significant progress has been made, important challenges remain to be addressed to ensure full compliance with CNJ Resolution No. 487/2023 in the Federal District.
